We were so in shock we just had to go lay in it!!!
We got all dressed up no matter the weather!!!
Look what we got for Christmas!!
Yes, it is true. We actually had a "blizzard" in Ardmore OK. It may be a first EVER!!! We also had a GREAT Christmas!!! We missed our Missouri family, but hopefully the snow will melt and we will be able to make it out next week to see them all!!!
What did we do this weekend you might ask yourself??? Well, we had a famous Casey family weekend. Friday night we had a great dinner at home with some relaxing and FUN. Saturday was officially "family day!!! We slept in, well until 7:03 then lounged a little then headed to the music store so Jason could dream about an electric guitar (more about that later). Then we watched the great OU game, yay SOONERS. Then we headed to the lake with our tent and our grill and had a pretend camping out night. FUN was had by all. Thank goodness my husband can make a mean hamburger, and don't forget the smores with Reese's cups!!! If I wasn't already a Casey I would be trying to figure out how to become one!!!! I love this family.
We were excited and a bit nervous but the day was a success. Jackson walked in like he owned the place. He was on the ball, literally, he decided to be the super cool guy who remembered to bring a basketball on the first day of school. He said by the last recess they had already played the championship!! His team won of course. Sidney said she was excited but her face and voice showed a different emotion. She did mention she was a bit nervous too!! Like sweet girls do, some girl on the play ground told Sidney she and her friends were not POPULAR and without missing a beat Sidney said they were too popular. She did ask me what popular meant when she got home!!!
We had the most fun in Colorado in July. We got to hike on the big ski mountian, climb on every rock that was in our path, paddleboat, see family (we love our cousins), swim, play at parks, see musuems, baseball games, aquariums, and visit the Emergency Room!!!! Yes, we had our first ER visit and it resulted in 8 staples in Jackson's head!! He is doing great now but it was a rough couple of hours. Other than that afternoon the trip was a blast. Oh, and Jason did great at his school. Just got his grades yesterday and he made all A's of course!!! We are so proud of him.
Yes, that is right. . . Jason surprised us all with a birthday party for ME!!! (he didn't even tell the kids the plan, good thinking, we were all three very surprised!!!) As you know, Ardmore is a bit limited on restaurant options so when the one place I wanted to eat on my birthday was closed for remodeling I was a bit bummed. However, we managed to slip in without reservations (I am kidding of course!!) to the ever popular Mexican/Catfish restaurant. It was good but no Cafe Alley. . . we had agreed to go to my Mom and Dad's for dessert after dinner. When we got there I noticed a lot of cars parked next door and said, "Hey, it is my birthday and they are having a party, no fair!!!" When I walked in the house two or three of some of my favorite kiddos ran in and said SURPRISE!!!! It was so great to walk in and see all those friendly and loving faces!! Great job Jason!! I can't believe you pulled it off!!! What a great day!!!!!!!!!!
Pine Cove Family Camp ROCKS!!! It was so fun. We enjoyed each other and the great families we met there. Here are some of the things we did just for FUN!!!!!!! ZIP line, BLOB, swimming, horse back rinding, intertubing, skiing, wake boarding, sunset cruise, early morning trail ride, tether ball, BIG tree swing, giant sand box, human checkers, slip n slide, dodge ball. . . the list could go on and on. Here are some clips from our favorite moments!!! Sindey jumping off the diving board and Jackson jumping onto the BLOB.
This is Sidney's first LOVE. His name is Junior and she has knows him for about 2 years now. They are starting to work together. Sidney entered her first "horse play day" this weekend. She did great. She competed in the poles and the barrels (lead line of course). It was so fun watching her.
This is her first barrel race!! You should have seen the look on her face! She LOVED it!!!!
This was Jackson's first hit in the 2009 season. As you can see it was not a great pitch but he still muscled it out. This was a very exciting time for all of us. THEN, there came the FIRST HOMERUN!!! Check out his smile as he crosses homeplate, I think that says it all. It was a great showing for our Plianview team. We won our second game in a row. WOW, we must have a good pitcher...it is harder than it looks!!!
The cutie pie in the picture is named Carson. Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks!!! Jackson and Sidney were great entertainment for him!!
(sorry about the camers focus issues) You have not seen talent until you have checked out these rockin' guys!!! HOW MUCH FUN!!!!!! Needless to say, it doesn't matter how long we have been away from Nate and Trish, we seem to be able to pick up right where we left off! And can you ever get together with the Casey's and not have a DANCE PARTY!!!!
Today Sidney had her gymnastics exhibition!!! She LOVES gymnastics so this should be easy right. . . well, we got off to a rocky start but after she got it together she was able to perform at her best!! Wowing her Dad and her Nana with all her tricks!
Jackson spoke and they both sang at church this Sunday! Aren't they cute???? By the way, when Jackson watched this he said, "I didn't know that was a prayer!" (when he finished you can hear people in the background saying AMEN!!!
We spent Jason's birthday weekend at Great Wolf lodge!! Can you say FUN!!! You could not slow Jackson down if you wanted to and Sidney went from crying half the way down to saying "yea, baby!!" the second half.
Today was Jackson's end of the year track meet at his school. He ran the 100 meter dash and finished a strong second! We were so proud of him! He did great and had FUN!!! Due to the recent rain, his other event, the LONG jump was cancelled. . . maybe next year!!!
Yes. . . this really is our little boy! He has now lost 5 teeth but he lost the last three in the last 12 days!!! I think his gums are sore from all that wiggling and pulling!! But he has been a trooper and has not lost the desire to take the teeth to school the next day to show them off before putting them under his pillow! He also noted tonight that some of his words may sound a little different for a while! He said he blows too much air now when he says his TH sound!!!
When I grow up by Sidney Casey. For the record, last week she wanted to be an astronaut, veterinarian, rock star, horse rider, police girl, and gymnastics coach. It came down to the wire and the fact that we already had gymnastic outfits!! This is at Sidney's pre-kindergarten graduation.
